The Month That Saved America

April 1846 was the month that saved America because it was the month that the civil war officially ended and millions of african americans became free. As we all know the civil war could have ended very differently. If the South wouldn't have surrendered the war would have lasted probably for a few more years and would have ended in a stalemate and millions of african americans would still be slaves.
